Are you looking for a more connected and meaningful way of working?
At The Whole Family, we believe good therapy happens in the context of strong relationships — not only with clients, but within teams too. As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for a warm, thoughtful Clinical Psychologist or Registered Psychologist to join our team in Cairns.
This role may suit someone seeking a change from the isolation of solo private practice, someone hoping to reconnect with the value of face-to-face therapy, or a psychologist wanting to work within a genuinely supportive, collaborative, and growth-focused environment.
Our practice supports children, adolescents, adults, and families through thoughtful, evidence-based, relationship-focused care. We are a warm and welcoming team currently made up of Stacey (Clinical Psychologist and Board-Approved Supervisor), Alannah (Registered Counsellor), Tayla (Registered Psychologist), and Noni, our wonderful full-time administration support. Together, we care deeply about doing good work and continuing to grow as clinicians.
Why join us?
A connected, collaborative team
We genuinely value peer connection, shared reflection, and clinical collaboration. We consult with one another, support one another, and work together to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care for our clients and families. We are committed to ongoing learning, reflective practice, and becoming the best psychologists and clinicians we can be.
A return to meaningful, face-to-face work
For psychologists feeling fatigued by the disconnection that can come with fully remote work, our practice offers the opportunity to return to the richness and nuance of in-room therapy — particularly important in work with children and families.
Supervision & professional development
Stacey is a Board-Approved Supervisor and can provide supervision and support toward Clinical Endorsement for eligible Registered Psychologists.
A beautiful working environment
Our practice has been intentionally designed to feel calm, warm, and grounding — with light-filled therapy rooms and a strong focus on creating a positive environment for both clients and clinicians.
Strong administrative support
Our full-time administration support, Noni, plays an integral role in the practice — supporting clinicians with bookings, client communication, and day-to-day organisation, allowing our team to focus on meaningful clinical work and client care.
Flexibility & sustainability
We are open to psychologists looking for between 1–5 days per week and strongly value creating workloads that feel sustainable and supportive. We understand that good clinical work requires balance, and we aim to work collaboratively with each of our clinicians to shape a schedule and client load that genuinely works for them.
