Nikki is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience supporting adults, adolescents, children, and families in private practice.
As a wife and mother of three, Nikki understands both the joys and complexities of family life. She is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change across generations.
While her work is grounded in Schema Therapy, Nikki draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs, goals, and experiences.
Nikki also brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work with neurodiversity, offering a compassionate, practical, and strengths-based approach for neurodivergent individuals and families.
My interest in psychology began with a fascination for how our early experiences shape the way we think, feel, relate, and respond to the world around us. This passion led me to complete a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at The University of Queensland, followed by a Master of Clinical Psychology at Australian Catholic University.
For more than a decade, I have worked in private practice alongside adults, adolescents, children, and families navigating a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and relational challenges. Through this work, I have seen how greater self-understanding and emotional wellbeing can create meaningful change not only for individuals, but for the families and relationships around them.
I have a particular passion for working with parents and individuals who want to break unhelpful generational patterns and build healthier, more connected relationships with themselves and others. I enjoy helping people develop the insight, skills, and confidence to live more intentionally and feel more emotionally present in their everyday lives.
My primary therapeutic approach is Schema Therapy, which helps clients understand the long-standing patterns that can develop from early life experiences. Alongside Schema Therapy, I integrate other evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), to ensure therapy is tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.
I also have a strong interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals and families. Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience of neurodiversity, which allows me to appreciate both the strengths and challenges that can come with experiencing the world differently.
What draws me to The Whole Family is a shared belief that healthy individuals contribute to healthy families and stronger communities. Whether I am working with a child, adolescent, parent, or adult, my goal is to support meaningful change that strengthens not only the individual, but the relationships and support systems that matter most to them.
